Tracy Easley

I choose to work at Christian Unified Schools because I believe in our “mission” of teaching students to think, learn and live from a Biblical worldview. I consider it a blessing to be part of training up the next generation for Jesus at Christian Unified! And, I love my spiritual family at CUSSD!

Choir Tour

This March, Christian Unified’s concert choir got to go on two very unique tours where they gained new experiences and learned many new things about singing and performing. The first was the Disneyland trip where the choir first performed at California Adventure and then in a live Disney recording studio where they recorded Disney classics and saw them overlayed into actual Disney movies. This was particularly special to those choir members with an interest in a singing career, who now have the experience of what it is like in a professional recording studio setting. The choir recorded “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and “Take You There” from Princess and the Frog.

Newsies Seize the Day!

This year, Christian Unified’s drama program put on the ambitious production of Newsies, and pulled it off phenomenally! Many students who aren’t part of Christian Unified’s fine arts program had the opportunity to participate in this dance extravaganza. This musical surrounds the story of Jack Kelly (played by Josh Hitchcock), who leads a group of poor boys who sell newspapers in New York for little money in a strike against the ruthless and exploiting business of the paper. While onstage, the students displayed their jaw-dropping talent, while also keeping in mind that they were representing God. Sophomore Romy Aguilar, who played Newsie “Specs” in the production, mentioned how she represents God onstage, saying “One way I represent God onstage is by giving it my all! Whether it was dancing or acting, I made sure that I was doing it to represent the talents that God has gifted me with.”

Christian High School Missions Trips

Over the years, mission trips have had an impactful influence on CHS students. Students have been given the chance to serve God by spreading the Gospel from Puerto Rico to Washington D.C., and many places in between. Until recently, each school year was limited to one or two mission trips due to limited resources – last year the only mission trip took students to Salt Lake City, Utah. But this is changing thanks to US History teacher, Mr. Ryan Molumby, and Shadow Mountain Community Church.

He spoke how in 1995, he was working at a guest ranch and the owner there gave him advice that how his life in his 20s would establish how his life would become into his 70s. Then, he introduced his main question to students of what they want people to say about them after they die.

Chapel Highlights

Chapel is an integral part of the student experience at Christian High School. A wide range of speakers offers perspective and advice, insight and wisdom. Some, like Toni Collier, are particular standouts. Why? They speak to, not at, the students. Speakers like this validate the experiences and struggles of the assembly of high schoolers in front of them by sharing their own stories of struggle and redemption.
