Our school focuses on offering an education to our families with high academics and strong Biblical values. It is a school that supports the whole development of students, physical, emotional, and academic while maintaining the Bible at the center of its teaching.
Christian Unified is a blessed place. The second you walk on campus, you can feel it. You can see God in the authentic smiles and deep joy from the students. My two daughters and I were welcomed into the West family with open arms and immediately felt that we were right where we were supposed to be. We were home.
The reason I wanted to teach at Christian Unified is to help students learn the importance of physical activity and how it contributes to their overall health and wellness for God’s glory and honor.
I choose to work for Christian Unified because I love to serve our community and to pour the Word and love of Jesus into the hearts and minds of the little ones.
I am training students to see how God’s handprint is on everything. Helping to see the world and all things from a Biblical perspective. To provide them a strong foundation to stand on as the grow spiritually, emotionally and academically.
I believe that it is so important to teach our students through the eyes of Jesus and His word. I hope to help prepare our students academically and spiritually to go out into this world, succeed and make a difference for His Kingdom.
Christian Elementary and the community that comes with it are very much aligned with my own beliefs and values. I am happy and thankful to be able to teach God’s love and His ways throughout each of the subjects that I teach, the books that I read to the students and the words that I speak.
Teaching at a Christian Unified allows me to teach my students about Christian faith and Jesus. Sharing a common faith builds connection and forms solid relationships with others. I love teaching Kindergarten. I love the growth that occurs throughout the year both spiritually and academically. I love the energy in the classroom and the joy and pride each child expresses when they learn something new!

I am originally from a small town in Wisconsin, and grew up there for 16 years. I have lived in San Diego now for 7 years. In my free time I love creating art, drinking coffee, listening to music, going for runs, hiking, playing tennis, and going on trips! My husband Josh and I have been married since August 2022 and we live in Mira Mesa with our dog Snoopy. I am blessed to be able to do what I love, teaching at a Christian school.
I love the Lord and love working with children. Teaching at Christian has given me the opportunity to do both. I have the added bonus of being on the same campus as my children. The ability to work in a Christian environment has been an incredible blessing!

Christian Unified Schools of San Diego (CUSSD) is an outreach of and sponsored by Shadow Mountain Community Church (SMCC). The thirteen-member governing board of directors is composed of SMCC members who have been elected by its membership at the annual meeting. TEACHING STUDENTS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS, FACULTY, AND THE LOCAL CHURCH
Christian Education is a cooperative effort between parents, faculty, and the local church to develop the spiritual, environmental, and intellectual culture necessary for sound learning. Parents authorize both school and church to inspire, cultivate, consecrate, and instruct their children. By necessity, every teacher who teaches from a Biblical philosophy of schooling must exemplify the excellent teaching gifts and qualities of character and scholarship worthy of a wholehearted commitment to Christ. TEACHING STUDENTS TO THINK, LEARN, AND LIVE AS EFFECTIVE CHRISTIAN PEOPLE
Christian Education enlightens the understanding, corrects the temperament, forms the habits and manners, and prepares students for useful service. From a Christian worldview of presuppositions consistent with absolute Biblical truth, students learn to discern right action and thinking from which they then exercise a proper role in their families, the Body of Christ, and as citizens of the United States of America. GENERAL PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
Because we believe God’s Word is the primary source of truth and meaning, Christian Unified Schools of San Diego (CUSSD) seeks to operate based on Biblical principles. From God’s Word, perspective from the past, context for the present, and direction for the future is established.

The Curriculum is rigorously developed, thoroughly documented, well-executed, and Biblically integrated. It is structured to provide interrelated disciplines. It incorporates the general philosophy, school-wide learning results, measurable objectives, instructional strategies, adequate resources, and appropriate assessments throughout. The Methodology uses researched, best practices to incorporate knowledge with application through differentiated instruction aligned to cognitive development. The parents and the church are the institutions charged with the education of children.
