Dear Christian Unified Schools Parents and Community,
On behalf of all of us at Christian Unified Schools, we are pleased to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year! Our teachers, staff, and administrators as well as many others in the CUSSD and Shadow Mountain family have been hard at work in preparation for the school year. Next week we are excited to welcome our students and their families to our South Campus, West Elementary, Junior Campus, East Elementary, Junior High and High School.
We know that you have been receiving a good deal of information from your respective school(s) but I wanted to take a moment to highlight a couple of district-wide matters as we welcome more than 1740 students to our school’s three campuses.
WE ARE CHRISTIAN: CUSSD KICKOFF; August 17
All students, parents and grandparents from all campuses and all grade levels are invited to the “We Are Christian: CUSSD Kickoff” event set for halftime of our Christian Patriot’s opening night football game on Thursday, August 17. Kickoff vs. Mission Bay is at 7 p.m. at Granite Hills High School Field. Come for the whole game and root on our Patriots! Admission is free for all CUSSD students and families. The halftime event will include assembling all students, parents and grandparents to the south of the end zone beginning with 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. At halftime we will ask all of Grades 5-12 students to go to mid-field and take a knee. Teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and alumni will then circle up around them at mid-field for a time of dedication and prayer for our students, teachers and school. All grades TK – Grade 4 students are asked to stay with their parents while on the field. This will be a wonderful time of welcoming our returning Patriots as well as our new students and families. We hope to see you on the field on Thursday night!

As we embark on this new school year, let me express my gratitude for entrusting us with the Christian education of your children. Our partnership is essential, and we are excited to see what the Lord has in store as we teach our students to think, learn and live from a Biblical Worldview.
