Christian Jr/Sr High School
I love the Word of God and have a passion to disciple the youth.
I love watching movies with my family, reading God's Word, watching sports especially soccer (go Barcelona!) and the UFC, listening to music, and working out. I was going to be an F-16 fighter pilot, marine biologist, or a lawyer before I became a teacher. Christian and K-pop music artists are my favorites and athletes such as Cris Cyborg and Lionel Messi.
Because I have a counseling background as well, I find teaching incorporates many of my skills and gifts. One of the beauties of teaching literature is in the ability to provoke thoughts about beliefs, evaluate decisions by characters, and value objective truth.
An education without knowing our Savior is of very little value. I believe that education must be grounded in Truth and teaching at Christian Unified allows us that opportunity.
Interesting facts: I went to Christian High School, and four different family members have taught at CHS. I've coached and played basketball for CHS. I have 5 kids that attend Christian Unified.
I have loved being part of the Christian Unified Family as a parent and volunteer for the last 11 years. I’m thankful for the opportunity to work at a place that has invested so much in our family.
I believe the next generation is going to achieve amazing things, and as a teacher I am blessed to be a guide rail as these students chase their dreams!
I chose to work at Christian Unified because I value a Christ-centered community where I can build meaningful relationships with students, encourage their spiritual growth, and share my passion for exploring God's creation through life science.
I love watching the students grow and mature in their faith and walking alongside them and their families on their education journey.
I graduated from CHS in 1992 and still remember the impact that many of the teachers had in my life. In fact, one of my teachers (Miss Wagner) was the reason I made a career in science.
I love art and have wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade! It brings me such joy to be able to do both of these things every day while also sharing my faith with my students. That "Aha!" moment when a student gains understanding and mastery of a new technique or skill is such a privilege to witness and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing students express themselves creatively and show pride in what they have learned and accomplished.
I am grateful that God has led me to Christian Jr./Sr. High School, where I have the privilege of teaching woodshop and investing in the lives of students. I believe God has a unique purpose and plan for every student, and I strive to help them develop practical skills, strong character, and a Christ-centered work ethic through the craft of woodworking.
I love to be outdoors whenever I can and also love to watch movie at home as much as I like being outdoors. I speak fluent Korean so watching K-drama is also something I like to do. Also, I love all kinds of food!
My life calling is to train the next generation - as a teacher in a Christian school, I am able to fully explain God's Providence through historical events.
I am passionate about helping students develop strong leadership skills, adapt to ever changing circumstances, and pursue the Lord like they never have before.
