I love art and have wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade! It brings me such joy to be able to do both of these things every day while also sharing my faith with my students. That “Aha!” moment when a student gains understanding and mastery of a new technique or skill is such a privilege to witness and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing students express themselves creatively and show pride in what they have learned and accomplished.
I love watching movies with my family, reading God’s Word, watching sports especially soccer (go Barcelona!) and the UFC, listening to music, and working out. I was going to be an F-16 fighter pilot, marine biologist, or a lawyer before I became a teacher. Christian and K-pop music artists are my favorites and athletes such as Cris Cyborg and Lionel Messi.
An education without knowing our Savior is of very little value. I believe that education must be grounded in Truth and teaching at Christian Unified allows us that opportunity.
Interesting facts: I went to Christian High School, and four different family members have taught at CHS. I’ve coached and played basketball for CHS. I have 5 kids that attend Christian Unified.
I love to be outdoors whenever I can and also love to watch movie at home as much as I like being outdoors. I speak fluent Korean so watching K-drama is also something I like to do. Also, I love all kinds of food!
My life calling is to train the next generation – as a teacher in a Christian school, I am able to fully explain God’s Providence through historical events.
I love to share the wonders of history with my students…to show how the hand of God has influenced our world. I also want to share my life experiences as a teacher, coach, college student, father, and soldier to help the students be more well rounded individuals.
I love power carving and taking pictures. I retired from the Navy in Sept 2022 (22 years).
I love coffee, dark chocolate, and have been learning embroidery and gardening. My husband, Christopher, and I have been married since April 2022 and we live in El Cajon. I am blessed to be able to teach what I love at a Christian school and live by God’s grace each day!
I enjoy spending time with my husband, three daughters, and three dogs. I especially love gardening, reading, attending theatre productions, Bible-journaling, and hanging out at the beach. I love coffee, Mexican food, and the color purple.

I chose to work as a counselor in order to help kids discover their strengths and talents. Each student comes to school with different motivations. My job it is help students discover their interests and to support their goal formation while building a plan for the future.
I teach because it fills me so much joy to pour into the lives of children. At Christian I have the opportunity to share God’s word and speak Truth to the students. There is nothing more rewarding than to see children enjoy the subject I am teaching, and incorporate their Christian faith into what they are doing.

Christian Unified Schools of San Diego (CUSSD) is an outreach of and sponsored by Shadow Mountain Community Church (SMCC). The thirteen-member governing board of directors is composed of SMCC members who have been elected by its membership at the annual meeting. Christian Education is a cooperative effort between parents, faculty, and the local church to develop the spiritual, environmental, and intellectual culture necessary for sound learning. Parents authorize both school and church to inspire, cultivate, consecrate, and instruct their children. By necessity, every teacher who teaches from a Biblical philosophy of schooling must exemplify the excellent teaching gifts and qualities of character and scholarship worthy of a wholehearted commitment to Christ. Christian Education enlightens the understanding, corrects the temperament, forms the habits and manners, and prepares students for useful service.
