Life Verse
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” —Galatians 2:20
Why do you work for Christian Unified?
I have a passion for teaching from a biblical worldview. I love sharing my faith openly and directly with students as it pertains to what is being taught. As an English teacher, I believe students should not only be exposed to great works of literature, but also have the opportunity to hold them up to the light of God’s Word to discern Truth. As an English teacher at Christian Unified, I have the opportunity to do this freely! Through classroom discussions, I get to lead my students towards better knowing Christ, His great love and mercy for us all, and growing in their faith. Helping my students think and learn from a biblical worldview is why I believe I was called to teach at Christian Unified!
Interesting Facts
I am a Christian wife, mom, teacher, and published author. When I am not teaching, I can be found working on my next book, podcasting, leading a small group for women at my church, or simply enjoying spending time with my husband and two teenage children. I love fresh flowers, nature walks, the beach, decorating, sipping tea, and studying God’s Word. I grew up in San Diego County, and have been married to the love of my life since 2003. Our two children have attended Christian High School, and we all absolutely love the community God has blessed us with here.

Experience
I began teaching in 2003, starting in the Oceanside Unified School District my first two years as an intervention teacher for grades K–3. My husband and I then moved to El Cajon where I spent the next 15 years teaching for the Santee School District. In this time, I taught kindergarten, first grade, and became the Intervention Resource Teacher for my school site for grades K–8. After seeing how blessed my own two children were by the staff and community at Christian High School, and their opportunity to learn from a biblical worldview, I knew I wanted to give back. I wanted to not only teach English curriculum, but to share my faith while doing it. Then in 2025, God clearly opened the doors for me to begin teaching English at Christian High School. While I’m just getting started here, I know I am well-equipped for this position. What a privilege and a joy it is to be here!
