This year’s girls’ Varsity Volleyball team has worked together to have an incredible season. Thanks to exceptional leadership and their faith in Christ, one could argue that it was one of their best seasons yet! In an interview, one of the captains, Senior Jessie Vincent, described the team as “competitive, fun, and hardworking,” despite the many challenges they faced.
When asked about her experience as captain, Jessie responded, “Being a captain means being a leader, not only on the court but also as an example to everyone. Being a captain is a great responsibility, but it’s an amazing thing that I’ve gotten to experience. I love being able to lead and help the team with any struggles.” The girls have been fortunate to have such outstanding captains who think highly of each other. Jessie also noted, “Julia stands out to me because of how much she has grown not only as a player but also as a person. We’ve been friends for as long as I can remember, so I’ve had the privilege to watch her evolve into the person she is today.”
The team’s unity allows them to forge a family-like bond and support each other in their faith. “I love being able to play at such a competitive level while also growing in my faith,” Jessie mentioned. She added, “I’ve been playing volleyball for a long time, but no team I’ve been part of has loved the game more than in high school. We share a special connection that most teams don’t have.”
Overall, the girls have made the most of their season and have formed an amazing team, both on and off the court.
