Why do you work for Christian Unified?
God opened our hearts to private Christian education as a result of the pandemic. He opened up an opportunity for Josh to attend before there were waiting lists. After seeing the impact it had on him, we determined to stay here even when our public school reopened. As a result, we moved our youngest son over, too. I was driving the boys to and from daily, so I decided to apply for a substitute teaching position. I was hired as an aide. This provided the opportunity to be on the campus and get a pulse of where my boys are daily. While I was with the younger grades I loved seeing all the students on campus and participating in chapel and other events as a staff member and parent.
Interesting Facts
I have been married to Pete for twenty-five years. We both grew up on the East coast. We have been blessed with a daughter, Hannah, and three sons; Eliott, Joshua, and Joseph. I love spending time by the ocean, the lake, or the pool. I like listening to books while taking care of household chores. I do not enjoy cooking. I like chocolate, peanut butter, and coffee. I like paddle boarding on the bay.

IN MEMORY OF OUR FOUNDER

It is with sadness that we share that the co-founder of our school district, Dr. Beverly LaHaye, passed away on Sunday, April 14. She was 94 years old.

Beverly was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ all the days of her life, and God used her in extraordinary ways to make a difference in the world around her. Along with her husband Dr. Tim LaHaye, she worked to establish Christian Unified Schools at a time when Christian education was in its infancy. She had a vision to meet the need for God-honoring curriculum and teachers who modeled Christlikeness to the students in their care, and she worked tirelessly to that end.

In addition to her influence on our school district, Beverly was also the author of many books, the founder of Concerned Women for America, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful and treasured member of Shadow Mountain Community Church, where she was honored recently during the GirlTime women’s event. As the audience stood to applaud, Beverly pointed upward, giving all of the glory to the God she served.
