Life Verse:
Psalm 64:2-4 – I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

Why do you work for Christian Unified?
I choose to work for Christian Unified because I believe in the importance of challenging, strengthening, and encouraging students in their faith at school (where they spend the majority of their day!). I believe that a school environment operating from a biblical worldview is especially important for junior/senior high students, who are often seeking to understand who they are. I am thankful that at Christian Unified, each student is given opportunities to develop a healthy sense of identity in Christ while also building excellent academic skills.

Interesting facts:
• I am from a rural Alaskan village called Mekoryuk, which is located on Nunivak Island (home of the reindeer and musk-ox!) My hometown has a population of 200 and my graduating class had a whopping 4 students.
• I went to Biola University for both my bachelor’s and master’s degree, which is how I ended up in SoCal.
• My husband and I have a Siberian Husky, Mavis! She is very shy and sweet.
• My interests/hobbies include enjoy coffee, baking, Lord of the Rings, and trying out new arts & crafts. Back home I love picking/preserving berries and greens, which involves a lot of fun ATV adventures on the tundra!

ADMISSIONS EVENTS

Choose from two great ways to learn more about our schools:

CAMPUS TOURS are scheduled throughout the school year and summer. Observe our environment and determine if Christian Unified is the right fit for your family.

At the junior and senior high school level, SHADOW DAYS are available throughout the school year. We recommend a Shadow Day for students going into 7th–12th grade.

IN MEMORY OF OUR FOUNDER

It is with sadness that we share that the co-founder of our school district, Dr. Beverly LaHaye, passed away on Sunday, April 14. She was 94 years old.

Beverly was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ all the days of her life, and God used her in extraordinary ways to make a difference in the world around her. Along with her husband Dr. Tim LaHaye, she worked to establish Christian Unified Schools at a time when Christian education was in its infancy. She had a vision to meet the need for God-honoring curriculum and teachers who modeled Christlikeness to the students in their care, and she worked tirelessly to that end.

In addition to her influence on our school district, Beverly was also the author of many books, the founder of Concerned Women for America, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful and treasured member of Shadow Mountain Community Church, where she was honored recently during the GirlTime women’s event. As the audience stood to applaud, Beverly pointed upward, giving all of the glory to the God she served.
