Each winter, our eighth grade students take off on an adventure of a lifetime, exploring the East Coast on the Historical Studies Tour. Our tour is hosted by Christian Discoveries, which is part of the World Strides parent organization.
Experienced guides integrate Christian values and beliefs into their discussions of America's beginnings. In Virginia, we tour Colonial Williamsburg, and we see Jamestown, the first permanent settlement in the New World. From there we travel to Washington DC where we have the opportunity to visit our nation's most important places -- the White House, the Capitol Building, and the various memorials and monuments to presidents and veterans. A day is spent at the Gettysburg battlefield, and the last day is to Philadelphia and the Independence Hall National Historic Park.
