CUSSD Mission Statement
Recognizing the preeminence of Christ, Christian Unified Schools of San Diego
teaches students to think, learn, and live from a Biblical worldview
by integrating God and His Word as the primary source of knowledge and truth.
As a basis for continuous educational planning, the Counseling Department:
- emphasizes the development of strong academic proficiencies
- encourages a firm spiritual foundation
- focuses on developing personal interests and abilities
The goals of the Counseling Department include:
- Guiding students as they navigate junior high and as they plan their course for high school
- Facilitating that each student recognize their God-given gifts and abilities
- Strategizing with students as they plan their post-high school education and career, acknowledging that God’s plan for each student
- Assisting each student in finding the “best fit” for college and career
- Informing and supporting parents and students in the college application process
The Counseling Department provides:
- College 4U (lunch and after-school mini-workshops on a variety college preparation topics)
- Grade-level Informational Nights (for parents and students)
- Individual Academic Counseling with Students
- Opportunities to Meet with College Representatives
- Resources on the Counseling Website and in the Counseling Center
- College Test Preparation Information
- Feedback to Interpret & Increase Test Scores
