CUSSD Mission Statement

Recognizing the preeminence of Christ, Christian Unified Schools of San Diego
teaches students to think, learn, and live from a Biblical worldview
by integrating God and His Word as the primary source of knowledge and truth.

 

As a basis for continuous educational planning, the Counseling Department:

  • emphasizes the development of strong academic proficiencies
  • encourages a firm spiritual foundation
  • focuses on developing personal interests and abilities

The goals of the Counseling Department include:

  • Guiding students as they navigate junior high and as they plan their course for high school
  • Facilitating that each student recognize their God-given gifts and abilities
  • Strategizing with students as they plan their post-high school education and career, acknowledging that God’s plan for each student
  • Assisting each student in finding the “best fit” for college and career
  • Informing and supporting parents and students in the college application process

The Counseling Department provides:

  • College 4U (lunch and after-school mini-workshops on a variety college preparation topics)
  • Grade-level Informational Nights (for parents and students)
  • Individual Academic Counseling with Students
  • Opportunities to Meet with College Representatives
  • Resources on the Counseling Website and in the Counseling Center
  • College Test Preparation Information
  • Feedback to Interpret & Increase Test Scores
