In this course, you’ll broaden your Spanish vocabulary and your knowledge of grammar. You’ll meet people from many different countries and cultures. While waiting for your plane ride home, you’ll also meet some Spanish-speaking people from different parts of the United States.
The purpose of this course is to strengthen your Spanish listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. You’ll also experience the beauty and expressiveness of a language that is shared by different people and cultures throughout the world.
Course Objectives:
This Spanish 2 course will give you the opportunity to experience various elements of Hispanic culture as well as learn more basic words, phrases and structures in the Spanish language. By means of a virtual cruise from Miami to Mexico and Central America, you will "travel" to different countries. You will meet other passengers on the cruise, as well as making friends from other Spanish speaking countries. They will give you additional insight into their lives and cultures.
Every module in this course represents an individual trip. As you begin each one you will find out about your fellow travelers, your itinerary, and your destination. As you complete each one you will journey further into the Spanish world and language. Each module also presents activities that encourage you to examine Hispanic culture from within a Christian worldview framework. You will learn about service opportunities in Latin American countries, use the richness of Spanish grammar to gain a deeper understanding of the Scriptures, and prepare to share your faith with Spanish speaking people.
